Biofuel...can I run my diesel 1996 car on sunflower oil without a conversion.?

You can, the mix has to be about 30% in the winter , 50% in the summer no more or it will not run to well . my advice would be to start with 10% and work up slowly all engines are differant and you need to take it slowlyBiofuel...can I run my diesel 1996 car on sunflower oil without a conversion.?
Some cars will work fine on 100%, some cars will die immediately if you give them 20%. If you have a LUCAS or a CAV injection pump, don't go there without preheating. Report Abuse

No problem! Just make sure you drain the tank and fuel lines first of diesel fuel first.

Good luck.
yes you can, never seen it on top gear, you can run it on methane 2 if ya want to!
If you are seen by the Federal Goverment you could be shot on site for that.

America Inc. makeing a better world yesterday so that there will be no world tomorrow.
i have been running my 96 Citroen zx on sunflower oil for the last 12 months with a mix of 10 litres of diesel and 3litres of sunflower oil with no problems, in fact it runs better.
yes you can but be advised put another fuel filter in your line and renew your old one use a mix of abouy 10 litres diesal, to 3 litres of sunflower oil at first if it runs no problems then up it gradually but make sure you have a document stating that you are not paying for this sunflower oil and that it was donoted to you or you can get fined by the vosa, happy motoring
Not really.

Your conversion will be made to your tax documents. As you will VERY SOON need to pay tax on the sunflower oil, due to you using it as a fuel.
Yes, but your rubber parts would wear out faster .
