Can edible sunflower refined oil be used on face and body?im in india.?

can i use sundrop refined oil on face? Can edible sunflower refined oil be used on face and body?im in india.?
No, one should not use refind oil on faceCan edible sunflower refined oil be used on face and body?im in india.?
I would personally think that edible sunflower refined oil would be too thick for the face and body causing the pores to clog and resulting in severe keratosis, folliculitis and acne.

If cost is a factor for you, then I would buy a bottle of Vitamin E GEL CAPSULES and pierce with a pin prick or needle prick and squeeze out the contents to apply to your face. Vitamin E will assist in healing, repairing and moisturising. For your body, a simple cheap Cocoa Butter lotion would be best.
Why that peculiar thinking, especially while there are coconut and other oil specially applicable to face and skin.

Sunflower oil for your teeth...what do you think?

Back in December, I came across the concept of ';Oil Pulling';, or oil swishing. Basically you swish or 'pull' oil through and in and around your mouth, and then spit it out.

I began swishing sunflower oil in my mouth for 10-15 minutes in the mornings...

I noticed a change within 3 days, but I was skeptical and wanted to be absolutely certain.

I started doing this December 15th. I can honestly say that the plaque and tartar are gone and my teeth are whiter.

They're also much thicker and feel more solid in my mouth. Plus my gums are improving quite a bit.

Six months ago, I was looking at having all my teeth pulled and getting dentures. I don't have to do that anymore. :)

Oil pulling is DEFINITELY worth a try, imo!!!Sunflower oil for your teeth...what do you think?
A load of hooey. I especially love the part where you said

';They're also much thicker and feel more solid in my mouth';

What are thicker? Your teeth???? Impossible.

Thanks for a good laugh.Sunflower oil for your teeth...what do you think?
Sounds like snake oil to me.
I have never heard of this before.

I do know Hydrogen Peroxide as a mouth wash will heal your gums of most any problems.

Yeah, any kind of oil is good for your hair, the best is coconut oil. But I don't like to put oil in my hair, i feel as if it makes it too ichy!Is sunflower oil good for hair?
Wow. Ive never heard of using sunflower oil on hair. Well, it might make it oily, which is horrible! Maybe theirs something speacial they put in it, but if you use it Id be careful not to put too much in because your hair would get incredibly oily!
the best oil for your hair is olive oil. it's great for moisturizing and adding a ton of shine. shampoo your hair and towel dry. rub olive oil all over your hair, then wrap your hair in a hot wet towel. leave in 20 mins, wash out, and condition to seal in the treatment.
yeah but olive oil is better

You can, the mix has to be about 30% in the winter , 50% in the summer no more or it will not run to well . my advice would be to start with 10% and work up slowly all engines are differant and you need to take it slowlyBiofuel...can I run my diesel 1996 car on sunflower oil without a conversion.?

Biofuel...can I run my diesel 1996 car on sunflower oil without a conversion.?
No problem! Just make sure you drain the tank and fuel lines first of diesel fuel first.

    Good luck.
yes you can, never seen it on top gear, you can run it on methane 2 if ya want to!
If you are seen by the Federal Goverment you could be shot on site for that.

America Inc. makeing a better world yesterday so that there will be no world tomorrow.
i have been running my 96 Citroen zx on sunflower oil for the last 12 months with a mix of 10 litres of diesel and 3litres of sunflower oil with no problems, in fact it runs better.
yes you can but be advised put another fuel filter in your line and renew your old one use a mix of abouy 10 litres diesal, to 3 litres of sunflower oil at first if it runs no problems then up it gradually but make sure you have a document stating that you are not paying for this sunflower oil and that it was donoted to you or you can get fined by the vosa, happy motoring
    Not really.

Your conversion will be made to your tax documents. As you will VERY SOON need to pay tax on the sunflower oil, due to you using it as a fuel.
Yes, but your rubber parts would wear out faster .

I run wvo, so cost is zero.Olive oil has the highest Cetane. But people don't use much because of price.Peanut oil runs well, but soy oil is the cheapest.

Biodiesel made from wvo should retail at $2.50 per gallon, but the biodiesel makers are greedy too.Biodiesel...vegetable or sunflower oil?..is there a difference?
The thing is, there is a worldwide fuss now about biofuels and agricultural fields are being used to produce it. There is a stir now whether it actually is worth it. It's production is reducing availability of food and hiking up the price. This is really bad for empoverished countries. In a recent TIME (The Clean Energy Myth, April 7th 2008), the biofuel myth is revealed as being only a new way to hike up food prices and speed global warming.
Guess who bought up all the Hydrogen producing facilities in the USA? the BIG oil companies!

Because big oil companies have a huge infrastructure already in place for diesel and gasoline. They are not about to change it for nothing.

We won't see very much done with H2 because big oil won't allow it.
    they are not significantly different.

however, have you noticed the price increase in milk, vegetables, etc., lately.

and meat will be following it real soon, if it hasn't already.

mind you, this is a serious problem, and there are no good answers.

but bio-fuel is not going to be particularly helpful.

there just is not sufficient growing capacity for both food and fuel.
sunflower oil is vegetable oil. a compression ignition engine(diesel) will run on anything that contains enough hydrocarbons.so will a jet engine.
A diesel engine can burn all oils even lube oil. All oil comes from plants ,it is how the energy from the sun is stored. The fossil fuel doesn't come from animal but plants.
Well, since sunflower oil is vegetable oil, I would say no difference.
I currently run Bio Fuel (straight vegetable) in a 1999 Dodge 3500 truck. But all Cummins engines were modified from the factory to run on BioD since around 1992 without any modification.

Most vehicles are already equipped to run on Alternative Energy. In fact you鈥檙e probably even driving one right now and didn鈥檛 even know it. Go to www agua-luna com for a list of this vehicles

Ethanol doesn鈥檛 go bad like petroleum it鈥檚 just Alcohol. It鈥檚 what preserves your wine and gets better as the years go by.

Ethanol is a much cleaner fuel than petrol (gasoline):

It is a renewable fuel made from plants

It is not a fossil-fuel: manufacturing it and burning it does not increase the greenhouse effect

It provides high octane at low cost as an alternative to harmful fuel additives

Ethanol blends can be used in all petrol engines without modifications

Ethanol is biodegradable without harmful effects on the environment

It significantly reduces harmful exhaust emissions

Ethanol's high oxygen content reduces carbon monoxide levels more than any other oxygenate: by 25-30%, according to the US EPA

Ethanol blends dramatically reduce emissions of hydrocarbons, a major contributor to the depletion of the ozone layer

High-level ethanol blends reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 20%

Ethanol can reduce net carbon dioxide emissions by up to 100% on a full life-cycle basis

High-level ethanol blends can reduce emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) by 30% or more (VOCs are major sources of ground-level ozone formation)

As an octane enhancer, ethanol can cut emissions of cancer-causing benzene and butadiene by more than 50%

Sulphur dioxide and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions are significantly decreased with ethanol.

Lastly and my favorite.. It can be made at home.

It will cost about $1.10 to $1.20/gal to make the alcohol from various feed-stocks like corn, barley, potatoes, or Jerusalem artichokes. You will also have by-products which you can sell or use as animal feed, reducing the total cost down to about $.95/gal.

Biofuel is recognized by both the US Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy as an alternative fuel, and qualifies for mandated programs under the Clean Air Act Amendments and the Environmental Protection Act of 1992 (EPAct).

USDA Clears Air with Biofuel: Buses and other diesel-burning vehicles run cleaner if they mix biofuel with regular diesel fuel, said the US Department of Agriculture at a biofuel fuel seminar at a USDA research center.

Conversely most major automotive manufacturers (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, etc) recommend the use of bio fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.

In fact your probably even driving an ethanol car and didn't even know it.

    The trick is finding fuel.

I've been producing biofuel for about 3 years now, it's not extremely difficult. Basically you need general household ingredients, a processor (or still for ethanol) and some used oil. Blend it, let separate, screen and use. I complied a guide a while back to help walk you threw the process step by step, just email me or check out..

    www agua-luna com

Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if you鈥檇 like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, I鈥檓 willing to walk you step by step threw the process. I鈥檝e written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others help the environment.

Please dont do this.you need more info on what makes a diesel engine run.Sunflower vs vegetable oil but which as car fuel?
Sunflower oil is a vegetable oil.

The Diesel engine was originally designed to run on peanut oil.

Do a search for bio fuel and find the right way to run a diesel on vege oil.

If you don't sapponify the oil first you will damage the engine in the long term, it has to do with modifying the glycerides.

Home heating oil is the same as diesel except for the dye and the road tax. It's illegal to use on the road because you won't have paid the road tax which is what makes it cheaper.

well, I have no idea about sunflower oil, but I know I wouldn't take the chance without asking the vet first.

My vet has told me NOT to give them tylenol or Ibuprofen or any of the OTC pain relivers as it will cause liver damage and it's like a death sentence.

go to http;//www.nutirsana.com this site - I think says it's ok but still I'd check with my vet first before I took the chance with MY cats. Will sunflower oil harm cats?
Well it depends where u put itWill sunflower oil harm cats?
Well i dont know about cats but i know you can give it to dogs to make their coats shinier and lessen their shedding i would think it would be the same for cats. not sure what the dosesage would be? would think it would be around a 1/2 tea spoon? might want to research that
    I don't think so.
It shouldn't, in moderate quantities. Its one of the ingredients in many of the better cat foods. Its also used as a treatment of papulocrustous dermatitis in cats as it has a high concentration of linoleic acid (73%), which is important for good skin and coat health.
it shouldn't do, just don't let them have loads. generally speaking, unless your cat is a bit stupid it won't eat stuff thats bad for it. cats tend to have some kind of program that tells them what they can and can't eat. Having said that only one of mine is like that. the other will eat anything that I eat given the opportunity but that cos he thinks he's human!

Does sunflower oil in cosmetics have an estrogenic effect on our body?

No there is absolutely no estrogenic types of hormones in sunflower oil.

Any effect it may have to produce a hormonal sexual effect on someone would have to be psychosomatic.Does sunflower oil in cosmetics have an estrogenic effect on our body?
No, never heard of it...Does sunflower oil in cosmetics have an estrogenic effect on our body?
    no
While it is true that some plants contain so called phytosteroles and that some of them are estrogenic, it is very doubtful sunflower oil does contain them. The oil is used in vast quantities for food prep and if it were estrogeninc, it would have been noticed. The plant estrogens would remain effective when supplied trhough stomach.

Cosmetics would supply so little of the oil to your body, that even if it were very, very slightly estrogening, the effect would be close to none. With everything, effect is dose dependent.

*So, to finalize my answer: No.* Sunflower oil in cosmetic is not estrogenic, because of the small dose supplied to the body and because the oil is not known to have noticeable estrogenic effect.
Don't think so. If you wish to look into the subject in detail, I suggest you google 'oestrogen mimics' or 'oestrogen mimetics'

  • ..is it possible to mix a bit of sunflower oil to my diesel without it causing damage?

You can run a diesel engine on un-processed NEW vegetable oil. FACT!

Only USED oil requires filtering %26amp; processing.

The ONLY people that say you need to process new oil are the ones set to benefit from it economically. You DON'T.

Nobody uses sunflower oil as it's too expensive. The cheap grades of generic 'vegetable oil' eg. rape work just fine.

I know of several people who run 2.5 V6 BMW engines with neat veg. oil straight from the ';cash 'n' carry';, and cut it 50/50 with diesel in the winter as the viscocity can be a problem in cold weather.

Downsides are: exhaust smells like a mobile 'chip van' and losing the detergents added to commercial fuel.

Of course, you are required to register with Customs %26amp; Excise to pay fuel duty - doing that will keep you legal and save around 拢0.10 a litre...is it possible to mix a bit of sunflower oil to my diesel without it causing damage?
    no !!!!!!!!! no !!!!! no!!!!!!!!

some diesels have a ceramice piston top and if you mix it with your fuel it migh damage your engine

best thing to do is find a biodiesel web site and they will give you more advice on the subject

true a diesel will burn just about any oil but your risking engine managment troubles as modern day cars have sensors everywhere

theres loads of sites out there which will help u need ethanol and oil and a catalyst to mix your own bio fuel so just be carefull

once you get it right though it smeels like your constantly following a mobile chippy ! cheap though

good luck..is it possible to mix a bit of sunflower oil to my diesel without it causing damage?
It depends on the type of engine you are using it in.

If you've got an old-technology engine, like a mid-80s or early 90s car - especially one with indirect injection - you probably won't have much of a problem.

If its a newer engine, particularly one with common-rail injection, or VW's ';pumpe-d眉se'; electronic unit injectors, then the ';stickiness'; (I can't think of a better word) of the sunflower oil could clog up the smaller apertures in the injectors. Up to 5% in normal diesel fuel would probably be acceptable, but not much more (and you would have to ensure that the fuel you're adding it too doesn't already include any bio-diesel components - for example diesel fuel in France is normally 5% bio-diesel).

Also if you're using it on the public roads you'll have to inform the Customs and Revenue that you are using the sunflower oil as a fuel, and pay the road fuel duty on it.
Major damage likely. Probably you will purge for days on end.
Are you making fuel or salad dressing?
sure, add it to your diesel tractor and you will have no problem.
I just saw a story on the news about vehicles powered by vegatable oil, so I guess sunflower oil will work also.
diesel engine will burn darn near anything in small quantities without damage.
I run my 4x4 on a 50/50 mixture of diesel and vegetable oil (it's cheaper than sunflower oil). There are no special modifications, except that I change the fuel filter every 5,000 miles. I have registered with HMCR and have to do a monthly return.

Some cars require a modification to pre-heat the oil to reduce the viscosity.

    Go to: http://www.pocuk.com/forums/viewforum.ph鈥?/a> .

It has a lot if information regarding alterntive fields and the law.
The answer to this is yes, but why would you? A Mythbusters episode covered a simmilar idea, which is using used cooking oil, and it works the problem is without a special treatment being done, which creates biodiesel, your engeen will burn up the oil quicker than standard diesel fuel, so your going to produce more polutants and get worse milage.
smack em down Ward! You need to convert any vegtable oil into bio diesel through a special process. the process separates out something that is harmful to engines. I really forget what it is called (maybe glycol) but I saw it on the discovery channel.

    yea thats fne
Yeah it would be okay. I used oil instead of butter and it turned out fine. Melt the butter and do the same. Then let it start to harden again.
    YEAH BUTTER IS FINE
don't know..some recipes you can do that. We don't use metric here in the US.

    Flax & Sunflower Oil Uses?

I have a bottle of flax %26amp; sunflower oil that someone gave me recently. I'm wondering what it can be used for? Is it just a finishing oil, or can it be used in place of any oils? Can it be heated, and to what degree? Does it give anything a funny flavor? I know its supposed to be good for you, but I don't know how to use it...Thanks in advance!Flax %26amp; Sunflower Oil Uses?
Flax oil is good for making salad dressing with, but other than that it's an oil that oxidizes under heat so if you cook with it, it must be very low heat.

Sunflower oil is good for just about anything.Flax %26amp; Sunflower Oil Uses?
Use it unheated/uncooked. You can add dry spices, onion, garlic and such to make a dipping oil for Italian bread. Mix with spices and vinegar for salad dressing.

I have never used it in baking as it has a taste from the Flax seed.

What kind of Sunflower will grow Black oil seed?

    The Peredovik Sunflower

This Russian cultivar produces the black seed used for making sunflower oil and is the very top choice for feeding birds. Plants average one big head with few side branches.

You can visit the link listed below if you are interested in purchasing this specific type of sunflower. Though it is important to note that many people have successfully grown sunflowers that produce these same seeds using the black sunflower seeds from common bird feed.

  • Is sunflower oil a good oil to seal my ends with?

you can't really ';seal'; your ends. the best thing to do it get a trim. if you're afraid to go short then get a trim gradually inch by inch so that you can get use to the length. the more you try to ';repair'; split ends without just trimming them off instead, the worse it can get. split ends will seperate more and more then longer you wait, and then it might be too late and you'll have no choice but to cut a dramatic amount offIs sunflower oil a good oil to seal my ends with?
    just get a haor cutt

Olive,Sunflower or vegetable oil which is best for high cholestrol?

I have very high cholestrol 7.5 I use olive oil spread but not every day. I work in a garage and it,s easy to pick up a sandwich but I choose salmon or chicken with a low fat count.I use sunflower oil for chips (yes I know chips are bad) and olive oil for all other cooking. so, are any oils good for you or are all bad?Olive,Sunflower or vegetable oil which is best for high cholestrol?
Some oils can be a benefit, like Flax oil with a heavy ALA content. It has been shown that a small amount of olive oil can be a benefit as well, and many European diets include a small glass of that everyday.Olive,Sunflower or vegetable oil which is best for high cholestrol?
sunflower oil better than veg or olive oil!!
Olive oil is the best for reducing cholesterol. Sunflower is 2nd best. Canola is healthy but it's made from rapeseed which can cause thyroid problems. Same for soy.

Olive oil is best because it not only reduces the bad cholesterol drs have found it increases the good. If the good is high in proportion to the bad then you don't need a special diet.

My uncle had a count of 400 %26amp; the dr. said he didn't know what kept him alive. He was put on a really strict diet %26amp; was miserable. When I heard about the good versus bad I told him to go elsewhere %26amp; have both checked. It turned out his good was 175 so the bad wasn't really that bad. He was told just to watch his pork intake %26amp; use kosher salt %26amp; olive oil when cooking. A big difference from the diet he was on. That was 15 yrs. ago when he was 65 with a family history of heart problems in the men. Yet he's still alive %26amp; kicking w/o any kind of heart problems.

So if I was you I'd find out the bad versus good number. But olive oil is definitely the best %26amp; the only fat that increases the good.
Hi olive and sunflower oil in that order,
Olive oil is fine for you. Try to avoid the chips. and do potato wedges in the oven instead

Which one is better : canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, rice oil?

Which one is the best for heath?Which one is better : canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, rice oil?
Rice oil is the best because:

    - Now being used by many restaurants in deep fryers to eliminate Trans Fat!!

    - A source of vitamin E complex, antioxidants and other micronutrients to help fight free radicals and combat the effects of aging. Rice bran oil has more of these components than other cooking oils. The components of rice bran oil give it an outstanding shelf life.

    - Rice Bran Oil has the best balance of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats as recommended by such organizations as the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization. It's the oil of choice for improving serum cholesterol levels and preventing cardiovascular diseases.

    - The viscosity of our oil is very light and the flavor delicate. Foods cooked with California Rice Oil absorb up to 20% less oil! Less oil absorbed results in reduced calories, better, lighter tasting food and enhanced flavor and palatability. Less oil absorbed also makes it more economical.

    - Rice Bran Oil is hypoallergenic. For those who have an intolerance to other cooking oils this is an excellent alternative.

    - The actual cost of California Rice Oil to the consumer is not significantly different than other high-grade vegetable oils on the market.

    - Rice bran oil is a naturally occurring source of many antioxidants such as Tocopherols, Tocotrienols, Gamma Oryzanol, Phytosterols, Polyphenols and Squalene.

    - Rice bran oil has a very high smoke (burn) point, making it perfect for deep frying, pan or stir frying and is a premium choice for the replacement of hydrogenated oil containing trans fat now being used in deep fryers.

    - Rice bran oil creates less polymers than other oils meaning better flavor and easier clean-up.Which one is better : canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, rice oil?
Canola oil was originally made for use on machinery and so I steer clear of that one.

All depending on what I am cooking I use olive oil or sunflower oil and sometimes chili oil.

I have never tried rice oil, but I would imagine that either it or olive oil would be healthier than the other two.
My doctor said olive oil was.

I only use oil for frying, because of the higher smoke point would sunflower oil be healthier than olive oil?

Olive oil is not good to be used for frying. Why you don't try to steam instead of frying. Or use pans where you need just a drops oil.I only use oil for frying, because of the higher smoke point would sunflower oil be healthier than olive oil?
no, actually it's the other way round, because olive oil contains more monounsaturated fatty acids which are less reactive to heat damage than sunflower oil (which is higher in polyunsaturated fatty acids), although for frying the best oils to use are those rich in saturated fatty acids because saturated fats are much less reactive to heat damage than unsaturated fats.

the only saturated plant oils are coconut oil and palm oil; other saturated fats are basically animal fats.

note - don't believe the hype about saturated fats being bad for you, because the research really suggests that saturated fats have very little impact on cardiovascular health at all.

however, frying food is not necessarily a good way to prepare your food, so try roasting or steaming or grilling instead.I only use oil for frying, because of the higher smoke point would sunflower oil be healthier than olive oil?
No. Sunflower oil is not good for you unless it is cold pressed and then you would not use it for cooking.
no olive oil is healthier and you don`t become fat with it as it is more lighter
    NO

What is the best sunflower seeds for the birds? black oil or gray & white stripe?

Black-oil sunflower has a higher percentage of meat and is a very nutritious source of high quality protein. The softer outer shell makes it easy for smaller birds like chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, goldfinches, pine siskins and finches. The seed also boasts a high concentration of oil which is especially important in the Winter. What is the best sunflower seeds for the birds? black oil or gray %26amp; white stripe?
what birds? big white ones are better for pet birds. Like some posters said, the black ones have a lot of fat in them. fat is good for wild birds becuase they need more calories, kinda like fat would be good to feed to starving ppl (ppl long ago though fat was the best part of meat! they didn't have enough food and went hungry for days often. But fat is no good for us fat americans that can't go without food for a single day, we need lean meat.) So save the little black seeds for the birds outside in the winter, and feed the big white seeds to your pet parrot as a treat! What is the best sunflower seeds for the birds? black oil or gray %26amp; white stripe?
I use black oil on everyday basis, but striped for special occasions and for treats and such
All sunflower seeds are good for birds, but use the black sunflower for smaller birds
