They go very well in meat sauces for pasta, stews, lamb casseroles etc.
If you have ever used Worcester sauce, it is made from anchovies.
When you cook with them in stews etc, they melt into the dish and give a salty richness that is very pleasing. Try a whole leg of lamb stabbed with cloves of garlic and anchovies and slowly roast until the meat falls off the bone.Drizzle with plenty of olive oil before putting it in the oven.
Cut in into chunks and serve with french bread, salads and rice.
What you end up is the most tasty, garlicky, slightly salty rich meat with no taste of fish. Great on a summers day for lunch.Anchovies? We have been given a tub of anchovies.1000g in sunflower oil vinegar and salt.Any recipe ideas?

I have never seen that much in one place, ever. The good news, they will probably keep forever. About the only place I use anchovies is in salads and salad dressing like Caesar. You could try using a small amount as a paste in addition to anything you add tuna to. Here is a link I found to a whole page devoted to recipes using anchovies:

1 jar Llyod Grosman Puttenesca sauce
1 onion
couple rashers or so streaky bacon
1 packet of vacuum packed muscles in garlic butter
Anchovies
cooked pasta, I normally use spirals
This is a pasta recipe. Fry chopped bacon and onion till cooked, stir in Llyod Grosman puttenesca sauce, warm very gently stir in some anchovies. Heat up muscles in microwave till cooked.
Put pasta on plates top with the anchovie sauce then pile up muscles on top and pour over all the garlic sauce from muscles. Everyone loves this, I made it up.
Go for the world record for the biggest pizza, that's a shed load of anchovies x
