What the people who keep encouraging this sort of option forget is that if you are ever pulled up at a VOSA roadside fuel check, and they find an 'alternative' fuel you will be in a sticky situation. It is NOT illegal to run your car on alternatives but if you do and the revenue are informed - which VOSA would probably do - they can arbitrarily tax you on how much they estimate you have used. To legally use what is not actually illegal to use as such (if that makes sense) the liquid will be taxed as motor spirit.
Also, just how long your engine will run satisfactorily is open to debate as the diesel you buy has a number of additives such as anti-knock, detergent etc in it - it is not just any old light weight oil.Does anyone know if i can run a t reg diesel mondeo on sunflower oil and what is the best mix?
You should have no problems unless it has a Lucas fuel pump (although I also have a report of someone using 100% svo on a Lucas equipped Mondeo).
I would advise trying 60/40 diesel to oil to start with, should certainly be fine at 50/50.
