When you make a chocolate fudge cake, do you have to put in sunflower oil or can i substitute it with somthing?

ive suddenly gotten into cooking, mainly desserts, and am trying out as many things as possible. in every recipe on the internet it says i have to have sunflower oil, but my mum doesnt buy that, we use vegetable oil. so could i substitute the sunflower oil for something like melted fat or something? it would be nice f someone could help me. This recipe uses vegetable oil, so its fine!

any oil will do. I use olive oil. Or, you can melt butter in the equivalent amount.
vegetable oil will be fine i use that all the time.
